A group that advocates for people sexually abused by priests is calling for heads to roll in Chicago's Jesuit province.

The Jesuits say they've removed a former leader of their north-suburban high school from the ministry.

The order's Chicago province says Rev. Larry Reuter admitted an inappropriate relationship with a student of Loyola Academy in Wilmette while he headed the school. He was president from 1975 to 1990.

The province says it reached a settlement with the victim.

ALBRECHT: That's not enough.

Therese Albrecht of the Survivors' Network of those Abused by Priests points out Reuter remained in ministry for years after the abuse allegation.

ALBRECHT: To leave him there put how many more young people at risk?

In recent years, Reuter has worked at Loyola University and Ascension, a parish in west suburban Oak Park.

He was unavailable for comment.

In 2006, a priest named Donald McGuire was convicted of abusing Loyola Academy students in the 1960s.
