	Priest Indicted for Sexually Abusing 2 Boys Herald News December 21, 2006 http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/heraldnews/news/182127,4_1_JO21_PRIEST.article Joliet — A Will County grand jury has indicted a Catholic priest who is alleged to have had sexual contact with two teenage boys in 1996 and 1999, Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow announced. This is the first case of sexual abuse involving a Catholic priest to be charged in Will County since the issue of sexual abuse by priests became a national scandal in 2002. Louis Rogge, 76, of Joliet was indicted on four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. All of the counts are Class 2 felonies that carry a prison sentence of three to seven years upon conviction. Rogge, a priest from the Carmelite Order, was scheduled to surrender to authorities at the Will County Jail on Thursday morning on a $40,000 bond. He must post 10 percent to secure his release while awaiting trial. Rogge was a longtime family friend and a spiritual adviser to both teen-agers. Both of the youths were 15 years old at the time of the alleged abuse. The first is alleged to have occurred in the summer of 1996, and the second was allegedly in the summer of 1999. The victims' family members brought the allegations to this office.
