Alexandria, Va. -- A Maryland rabbi was indicted on Friday in connection with a "Dateline NBC" online predator sting.

Police said David A. Kaye, 56, of Rockville, Md., was charged Thursday with alleged coercion and enticement and travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual contact with a minor.

The two-count indictment charges each carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

According to court documents, in August 2005, Kaye used an Internet chat room to entice an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old boy to engage in illegal sexual acts. On or about Aug. 17, 2005, Kaye drove from Maryland to a residence in Herndon, Va., where he arranged to meet the boy for a sexual encounter, according to authorities.

Video from a "Dateline" hidden camera allegedly shows Kaye visiting the home.

Kaye is expected to be arraigned on June 9.
