Priest Said to Be Connected to Previous Child Molestation Charges

(CBS/STNG) CHICAGO Three people are claiming that as children they were sexually abused by a Chicago priest.

The three victims filed a civil lawsuit on Tuesday against Fr. Norbert Maday.

One victim was allegedly abused from about 1985 to 1986 when he was 10 to 11 years old and a parishioner at Our Lady of the Ridge in Chicago Ridge, according to a release issued by the victim's attorney.

Another victim claims he was abused while a parishioner at St. Bede the Venerable in Chicago from about 1979 to 1980 when he was 12 to 13 years old, the release said.

The third victim was allegedly abused from 1977 to 1978 when he was about 12 to 14 years old.

The suit also names other Chicago priests who worked with Maday and either received reports of or witnessed Maday's inappropriate behavior, the release said.

Maday's name has been tied to child molestation charges in the past. He was accused of child molestation in 1992 and the Illinois State's Attorney declined to prosecute. He was later convicted for molesting two boys in Wisconsin?s Winnebago County, according to the release.

According to the release, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison and is believed to be incarcerated.
