The case of a retired priest facing numerous sex abuse charges is on hold until May 31. Eighty-two-year-old Charles Sylvestre who was a preist in Port Dover's St Cecila for 3 year faces sexual assault charges dating back to 1954. Crown Attorney Paul Bailey said seven new alleged victims have come forward, raising the number of complainants to 45. He told court today that more time is needed to interview the new alleged victims before meeting with Sylvestre's lawyer to discuss a possible plea bargain. The charges stem from when Sylvestre was a priest with various parishes within the Diocese of London between 1954 and 1985.
