A Chicago Catholic priest has pleaded not guilty to charges that he sexually abused three boys.

Cook County State's Attorney's Office spokeswoman Marcy Jensen said the Rev. Daniel McCormack entered his plea during a brief court hearing Wednesday. She said he's scheduled to return to court for a status hearing on April 6.

McCormack is accused of four felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

McCormack was charged in January with abusing two boys and charged last month with abusing a third boy. He was indicted by a Cook County grand jury last month.

The case has drawn widespread attention because McCormack wasn't removed from his duties until months after allegations against him surfaced.
