(AP) Five people -- including a state senator, a state police sergeant and a mother -- have been named to a panel to examine the behavior of Catholic priests in the Springfield Diocese. Formation of the panel -- which now also includes a priest and a nun -- was announced three months ago by Springfield Bishop George Lucas following the beating of Monsignor Eugene Costa in a local park late last year. The two teenagers charged with beating the priest have said he offered them money for sex. The panel is headed by Former U-S Attorney and Sangamon County State's Attorney Bill Roberts. The newest members include Alton State Senator William Haine.
