He also served as a campus minister and on the diocesan Priests Council and the Priests Retirement Board. On April 29, 2016, the diocese was informed that Sullivan was accused of having sexually abused a 15-year-old boy in Red Lake in 2008. Sullivan was placed on Administrative Leave pending an investigation. He denied the accusation.
